Business Partner: Dr. Chris Liu
Dr. Chris Liu, who graduated from Shanghai Medical University and University of California at Los Angeles, worked as medical researcher at Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University for many years.
Though Dr. Liu attended Western Medicine School, he was keen on traditional Chinese natural medicine too. While attending Shanghai Medical University, he practiced TuiNa medical massage at ZhongShan Hospital for over one year.
The reason why Dr. Liu started this clinic arised from an incident he encountered. After coming back from traveling abroad, Dr. Liu found himself hit with a range of motion issue in the left shoulder. He realized he might have the frozen shoulder problem (Adhesive Capisulitis). He saw a physical therapist first and then was referred to an orthopedist, who told him to either take steroid injection or undergo surgery. Astonished by the findings, Dr. Liu started to self Tuina the left shoulder with his right arm. Within 2 weeks, he fully recovered, without taking a single pain killer, steroid injection or surgery.
Realizing shortage of good natural medicine in this country even in the 21st Century, Dr. Liu is actively engaging in evaluating and providing evidence based natural medicine to his patients. Though acupuncture and TuiNa have been through centuries, they are advancing through integrating Chinese and Western medicine ingredients. Combined with strong medical and research backgrounds, his goal is to provide MODERN acupuncture and Tui Na services to our local community, minimizing their exposure to opioid pain killers and unnecessary surgeries.
